Habitat News

Habitat for Humanity finished 2013 by contributing over $580 to fund disaster relief efforts in the Philippines in response to the October devastating typhoon. Thank you to all the generous donors in the BT community for making this assistance possible.

Upcoming Events:

Chariot Film Festival 2014 is coming on Feb. 21 in the BT theater.  A variety of original films, written and directed by BT students, will compete for audience votes and an array of awards by a panel of judges.  This is one of Habitat’s longest-running fundraisers, and all proceeds will go toward alleviating poverty housing in our local and global community.  Mark your calendar and come cast your vote for Best Picture 2014.

Spring Building Saturdays: March 29 and April 26.  Open to BT Habitat members 16 years of age and older.  Sign-up for the build will be held at Habitat chapter meetings in March and April.  Watch the message boards at BT for details.

Summer “Collegiate Challenge” Build Week:  Plans are under way for a week-long building trip somewhere in the Southeast US for June, 2014.  Participating in this trip is a great way to learn more about Habitat’s work around the country and acquire Works of Mercy service hours for next year.  Watch for more details next month.
